Farewell party for Lee Combs
A retirement party for Lee Combs, who has served Metro State for 12 years as general counsel, will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 9-11 a.m. in Central Classroom 301. Continental breakfast will be served.
Malcolm Farley art exhibition kicks off next week
Metro State alumnus and internationally renowned artist Malcolm Farley will present a special retrospective of his work featuring more than 100 pieces Nov. 11-17 at the Denver Pavilions. Farley will donate 50 percent of sales during this exhibition to the College for its use in funding scholarships. Events during the week will include four lunch-and-learns designed to engage the business and K-12 communities, and two public receptions.
Music Department features Choral Ensembles
On Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m., the Metro State Choral Ensembles will perform at the King Center Concert Hall. Metro State students, faculty and staff get in free with valid ID. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 students. Free parking in the Tivoli lot with voucher is available. The concert, which is the finale of Metro State's Choral Celebration, features the voices of the Women's Choir, Men's Choir and the Metropolitan Chorale (mixed choir). The directors are MB Krueger and Tim Krueger and the piano accompanist is Lara Jean O'Connor and David Shuey. Veterans honored during Metro State flag-raising ceremony
Metro State is hosting a flag-raising ceremony on Veteran’s Day (Wednesday, Nov. 11) to honor men and women who have served their country, or have fought or died in present or past wars. The ceremony includes a parade of colors, national anthem, flag-raising and short presentation from Metro State President Stephen Jordan. The ceremony will be held 10:45 -11:30 a.m. at the Tivoli Commons. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Tivoli Turnhalle. For more information, contact epaul@mscd.edu.
