HLC team gives thumbs up to master’s programs; final decision due in April
Feb 3, 2010

The three-member site visit team from the Higher Learning Commission announced in its exit interview Tuesday that they will recommend approval of Metro State’s proposed master’s programs in accounting, teacher education and social work.

“This was wonderful news to know that the team supports our effort to begin offering master’s degrees,” says President Stephen Jordan. “The Master Programs Task Force and everyone involved are to be commended for accomplishing so much in a short seven-month period.”

The College will know the final outcome of its request for HLC accreditation when the Institutional Actions Council votes at its April 19 meeting. Until then, the College cannot advertise or recruit students to the program.

For more information about the initiative, go to the master’s Web site.
