Metro State faculty and staff continue to play a significant role in the Denver community, bringing recognition and accolades to themselves and the College.

The Board of Directors of LARASA (Latin American Research and Service Agency) has voted to name an award after Associate Professor of Sociology Sheldon Steinhauser. The Sheldon Steinhauser Community Service Award will be announced at LARASA’s Bernie Valdez Luncheon this fall and given either this year or starting in 2009. The selection follows a LARASA tradition of naming annual awards for founders of the organization, of which Steinhauser is one.
