Kudos are due this week to faculty and staff who continue to distinguish themselves and the College in a variety of ways.
Charles Batey, associate director of equal opportunity, has
been appointed to the KUVO Jazz (FM 89.3) Community Advisory Board. The
board assists the station in accomplishing its mission by providing
feedback on policies and activities and serving as a voice for
listeners, allowing them to express their needs, interests and
concerns. “By working with the station leadership and the community,
the Community Action Board is a vital conduit, reflecting the
community’s interests and needs from the station regarding programming
matters,” Batey says.
Professor of Accounting Allan S. Rosenbaum delivered a
two-hour presentation to the Colorado Association of Enrolled Agents on
Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Johnson’s Corner, Colo. An enrolled agent is a
federally authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in
the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of
the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of
the IRS for audits, collections and appeals. Enrolled agents are
required to take the class annually and each participant receives two
continuing education credits.
Assistant Professor of Nursing Linda Stroup is one of two
nursing educators elected by the Colorado Council on Nursing Education
to represent nursing education on the state’s Pilot Program
Implementation Committee. The committee was established by the Colorado
State Senate last spring to establish a pilot program to research
nursing involvement in decision making. The 14-member committee is
expected to meet for two years and is an outcome of the Governor's Task
Force on Nursing Workforce and Patient Care.
