Faculty members continue to be sought after by their peers to serve on accreditation teams and the boards of academic organizations.

Economics Professor Mohammed Akacem had his article “A chance for the Middle East” published Oct. 8 in Britain's award-winning current affairs magazine New Statesman. To read the article, go to http://www.newstatesman.com/middle-east/2008/10/middle-east-region-markets.

Jane Broida, professor of recreation professions, recently chaired an accreditation visitation team to Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., for the Council on Accreditation with the National Recreation and Park Association.

Chair and Associate Professor of Marketing Clay Daughtrey has agreed to step into the secretary-treasurer position Marketing Educators Association (MEA) for the 2007-10 term. A second-term board member representing the Rocky Mountain region, Daughtrey is well known as a leader in the association, according to MEA President Barbara Gross. MEA is an international organization that promotes the enhancement of marketing education.
