Metro State faculty members continue to share their expertise with colleagues from around in the world through publications, presentations and conferences, while students are making a name for themselves in myriad ways.
Lisa Ortiz, assistant director of online learning and associate professor of technical communication and media production, presented her paper and project, “Virtual Perspective Taking on Physical Disabilities in Second Life” at Ed-Media – World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia, and Telecommunications. Held in Honolulu June 22-26, the international conference was presented by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE). Founded in 1981, AACE (http://www.aace.org/) is an international nonprofit educational organization. Senior Casey Rock has been named to USA Rugby’s Men’s Collegiate All-American squad and will pay in a three-match tour in South Africa Aug. 1-8. Casey is an English major with a 3.7 GPA. He plays at the forward position.
