Maurice Hamington, associate professor of women's studies and philosophy and director of the Institute for Women's Studies and Services, will have a new book, "The Social Philosophy of Jane Addams," published on Nov. 16 by the University of Illinois Press (see hamington).
Associate Vice President for Enrollment Judi Diaz Bonacquisti has been appointed to the Stakeholder Advisory Group to advise the Colorado Department of Education on designing, building and implementing a new assessment system to measure student achievement. Assistant Director of Campus Recreation Julie Rummel Mancuso received a "Sports Award" from Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper at the Denver Commission for People with Disabilities annual awards breakfast on Oct. 19. The award honors "those who have contributed to the well being of Denver citizens with disabilities".
Visiting Professor of Health Professions James Stevens co-authored an article, “The High Protein Myth,” that was published in the pro-cycling news e-magazine Daily Peloton on Oct. 13.
Senior and Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management major Addison Horine assisted the Sandlot Brewery in brewing three award-winning beers for the Great American Beer Festival in September: Move Back beer won the gold medal and Greenside Up the silver in the Dortmunder or German-Style category, and Where the Helles Bill? won a silver medal in the Munich Style Helles category.
