Jane Broida, professor of recreation professions, served as theaccreditation evaluator for the Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions at Benedict College, Columbia, S.C., and was a reviewer of extended abstracts for full paper consideration for the 2012 International Conference on Disability, Virtual Reality, and Associated Technologies.

Aaron Brown, assistant professor of mechanical engineering technology, advised a group of students that earned second placeat the annual NASA-sponsoredresearch symposium in the Robotics Rover division held in Boulder. This same group was the best-performing team at the Sand Dunes Annual Robotics Challenge on April 7.

Cindy Dormer, assistant professor of nutrition, reviewed "A Systematic Review of Interventions Targeting Family Eating Patterns in the Home Environment" for the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Nancy Sayre, assistant chair, Department of Health Professions, was appointed to the advisory committee for the Center for Career and Technical Education at the Community College of Denver.

Linda Stroup, associate chair, associate chair professor of nursing, co-authored the article “Involving Nurses in Decisions: Improving both Nurse and Patient Outcomes” which was accepted for publication in The Journal for Nursing Administration.
