Snow, cold don’t dampen May Day Celebration
May 7, 2008

Metro State employees are a hardy bunch. Either that, or they’re not about to let a little dreary weather deter them from free barbeque.

The second annual May Day Celebration, where the President’s Cabinet serves up burgers, hot dogs, potato salad and lots more picnic food, went off without hitch last Thursday, despite wet snow, a downright chilly temperature and long lines.

Well, there was one hitch. So many people came – the estimate is more than 500 – that the caterer had to make a quick run to the grocery store after the food nearly ran out.
