Weiske appointed interim EVPA of Auraria

The Auraria Board of Directors has voted unanimously to appoint Barbara Weiske as interim executive vice president for administration (EVPA) for the Auraria Campus, effective July 1, 2009.
Dean Wolf, current EVPA, announced his June 30 retirement to the Auraria board at its May meeting.
“We are fortunate to have a very talented staff in place,” says Craig Umbaugh, board chair. “I appreciate Barb’s willingness to step in. We are very fortunate to have Barb here with her skill set at this time.”
Weiske is currently the vice president for operations and deputy EVPA, a position she has held since 2007.In that position, she oversees all the divisions and departments of the agency which provide services to the Auraria Campus, including Facilities Management, Campus Police, Parking, Event Services, Classroom Scheduling, Student and Auxiliary Services, and central business and administrative functions.
In her 29 years at Auraria, Weiske has previously served as the division director of Student and Auxiliary Services, overseeing the Auraria Campus Bookstore, Campus Event Services, Early Learning Center, Leasing and Contracts, and Printing Services. Prior to that, Weiske served as the director of the Tivoli Student Union and the Auraria Student Center.
Weiske holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Colorado- Denver. She is also active with the Downtown Denver Partnership as a graduate of the Downtown Denver Leadership Program and a member of the Economic Development Council.
