Next week is your chance to clean out your closets and recycle all
electronics, clothing, paper, glass, cardboard, and plastics (#1–#7) at
the Recycle Extravaganza on campus.
Faculty, staff, students and local community businesses can drop off
unwanted items at the Tivoli Square, between the Tivoli and the King
Center, on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 24 and 25, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
There will also be access to the loading zone for quick drop off from
vehicles.
Metro State’s Environmental Science Organization (MSESO) is
sponsoring the event, along with GRX Guaranteed Recycling Experts,
Denver Rescue Mission, Denver Urban Gardens and Bella Solar Energy. The
goal is to recycle 30 tons of material.
Large items will be accepted; volunteers will direct vehicles with
large items to the appropriate drop-off location. Electronics will be
accepted at no charge, except for computer monitors and televisions,
which require a small fee because they contain a small amount of lead.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Denver Rescue Mission.
Call Michelle Sprowl, student president of MSESO, at 303-335-7482 with questions.
