Men’s tennis captures championship, women’s soccer holds top-25 position
Oct 7, 2009

Tennis players Scott Bradley (r) and Georgie Perez captured the ITA Central Region doubles championship on Sunday.
Metro State men's tennis players Scott Bradley and Georgie Perez captured the ITA Central Region doubles championship on Sunday in Kearney, Neb. They are the first men's duo to win a doubles regional championship in Metro State history and will go on to the national tournament to face the champions from the other seven regions later in October.

The top seed at the tournament, Bradley and Perez breezed through the championship match against No. 2 seed Yair Banuelos and Kyle Lynch from Western New Mexico, winning 8-2.

This was one of the most successful ITA regional tournaments for Metro State as Bradley and Perez won the doubles championship and came close to capturing the singles championship as well.

Women’s soccer
The women's soccer team is also performing at the top of their game. They remain at No. 6 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America's NCAA Division II top 25 poll released Tuesday. It was the second consecutive week the Roadrunners have been sixth and the fourth straight week they have been ranked in the top 25.

The Roadrunners travel to Mesa State for a 7 p.m. game on Friday and Fort Lewis for a 2:30 p.m. game on Sunday.
