The MSU Denver community has the opportunity to join the fight against blood cancer by participating in this year’s Light the Night Walk, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising event.
The University is seeking people to join its team by making a donation or participating in the 2-mile walk on Thursday, Sept. 27, in Washington Park, beginning at the intersection of South Franklin Street and Mississippi Avenue. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and the walk starts at 7:30 p.m. For more information about the MSU Denver team, click here.
“This is a great event for friends and family as well. We are encouraging people to join and walk with the team even if they are not able to donate,” said team captain Ryan Campbell, program coordinator for the Center for Urban Connections
Money raised by teams and individual walkers throughout the U.S. and Canada support blood cancer research, free educational materials, events for patients and their families, local programs such as family support groups and First Connection, a peer-to-peer counseling program, and personalized assistance through the Society’s Information Resource Center.
