Metro State, Auraria and Community College of Denver are hosting the 2009 Employee Wellness Fair next week. The fair, at the Tivoli Turnhalle on Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., is open to all benefit-eligible employees and features more than 40 vendors.
A number of free and reduced-cost health screenings, as well as valuable information about services and programs for living a more healthy life, will be available.Those services include current medical and dental carriers, massage therapy, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncturists and prepaid legal programs.
Self-pay blood tests will include a PSA test for men, Hemoglobin A1C – a common screening for diabetes, and a Cardio C-Reactive Protein (CR-P) – a screening that measures heart attack risk. CHIEBA-covered employees will also have the opportunity to have a blood test performed, as part of their annual wellness benefit, which will check cholesterol levels and levels of 25 additional important measures. Classified employees enrolled with Great West/Cigna can pay for the cholesterol screening test at the fair and file a claim for reimbursement from Great West.
Employees will need to contact Human Resources at 303-556-3120 to schedule their screenings.
Seasonal flu shots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for $25.
