Employee Wellness Fair coming next week
Oct 28, 2009

Metro State, Auraria and Community College of Denver are hosting the 2009 Employee Wellness Fair next week. The fair, at the Tivoli Turnhalle on Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., is open to all benefit-eligible employees and features more than 40 vendors.

A number of free and reduced-cost health screenings, as well as valuable information about services and programs for living a more healthy life, will be available. Those services include current medical and dental carriers, massage therapy, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncturists and prepaid legal programs.

Self-pay blood tests will include a PSA test for men, Hemoglobin A1C – a common screening for diabetes, and a Cardio C-Reactive Protein (CR-P) – a screening that measures heart attack risk. CHIEBA-covered employees will also have the opportunity to have a blood test performed, as part of their annual wellness benefit, which will check cholesterol levels and levels of 25 additional important measures. Classified employees enrolled with Great West/Cigna can pay for the cholesterol screening test at the fair and file a claim for reimbursement from Great West.

Employees will need to contact Human Resources at 303-556-3120 to schedule their screenings.

Seasonal flu shots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for $25.

For more information, please contact Benefits Manager Kirsten Moore in Human Resources at 303-556-5029 or kmoore65@mscd.edu.

Also note that the Human Resources Office has physically moved to 1512 Larimer St., 8th Floor. The office’s campus box, phone numbers, fax and e-mail addresses did not change with the move.
