WIT changes name to Educational Technology Center
Jan 21, 2009

To reflect the broader range of services it provides, the Web and Instructional Technology (WIT) department has changed its name to the Educational Technology Center (ETC).

“While Web site development is definitely a component of our mission,” says ETC Director Ben Zastrocky, “we want to emphasize the role that technology plays in teaching and learning, both online as well as in the classroom.”

The ETC provides audio/video and other media services as well as interactive applications development, webcasting, podcasting, graphics, course-management support and more. The center also houses a 14-workstation faculty lab where faculty can learn, teach and use some the latest technologies to enhance their courses.

Faculty are invited to attend two workshops the ETC will offer during the Spring 2009 Faculty Development Conference on Feb. 6: "Quantum Leap: Maximizing Student Learning and Engagement through Emerging Technology" and "Video Tools: Creating Accessible Video to Enhance Teaching and Learning on a Shoestring Budget." Faculty are also invited to stop by the ETC poster and resource table.

Located in CN 220, the ETC phone number is 303-556-3600.
