Dean Wolf, Auraria executive vice president for administration, has announced that he will retire effective June 30, 2009, after 24 years of service to the campus.
Wolf started at Auraria in 1985 as the division director of facilities management. After serving as vice president for operations, he was named interim executive vice president for administration in August of 1995 and was appointed to the permanent position in May of 1996. Prior to his time at Auraria, Wolf held a number of positions at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, including executive director of general services.
During Wolf’s tenure at Auraria, the campus population has grown significantly, requiring construction of the North Classroom Building, Kenneth King Performing Arts Center, Tivoli Auraria Parking Structure and Administration Building, as well as the acquisition and renovation of the Tivoli Denver shopping mall into the campus Student Union. He has also helped lead the $111 million Auraria Science Building addition and renovation currently in progress.
