Note: You must have QuickTime Pro to complete this operation!
- Open the movie you want to stream in QuickTime Pro.
NOTE: Movies to be streamed must be in QuickTime or AVI format and already have been compressed.

From the menu bar select: File - Export. |

From the 'Export' options select: Movie to Hinted Movie.
NOTE: This export process adds the information the sever needs to stream the video, it does not re-compress the movie. The information added, is very small, only a few 'k'.
It is a good idea to change the name of the file you exported so you don't overwrite the orignal. |

- FTP your newly exported movie to the streaming server, ocelot.mscd.edu.
NOTE: Movies must be stored in the appropriate directory.
After logging in, go to the root directory and follow this path: /Local/Library/QuickTimeStreaming/Movies

| Return to QuickTime Pro. From the menu bar select: Open URL.... |

- In the dialog box that opens, enter: rtsp://ocelot.mscd.edu/your move name.mov

- The movie you uploaded to the sever will now begin to stream. From the menu bar select: File - Save as...
It is a good idea to change the name of the file you saved so you don't overwrite your hinted movie.
The movie you just saved is a 'link' that points to the streaming server. Embed this 'link movie' in to an html page and up load the 'link movie' and html page to the server where the site resides.
