Audio Tape Deck
The controls for the Audio Tape Deck can be confusing, because the Audio Tape Deck is connected throught the [Graphic Equalizer].
NOTE-In order to utalize the Audio Tape Deck:
The controls on the Audio Tape Deck are as follows:
- Power:[see photo for location]
Obviouse but none the less important.
- Options: [see photo for location]. There are two 'Options' buttons.
- 'Mode' toggles between four different playback settings.
Stops playback after one sided is finnished.
Stops playback after both sides are finnished.
NOTE-When the Tape running direction [see Tape Direction] is
, only the reverse side is played.
Both sides are continully played 8 times.
- RELAY Both sides of 'Tape A' and 'Tape B' are played continully 8 times.
- Dolby NR:
- Play Trim:[see photo for location] This control allows you to adjust the high frequencies of a tape being played. If the high frequencies are too loud, turn the knob counter-clockwize. If the hight frequencies are too low, turn the knob clockwize.
- Dubbing:[see photo for location]
- Use the 'NORMAL' setting to duplicate an audio tape on 'Deck A' to an audio tape on 'Deck B' at normal speed.
- Use the 'HIGH' setting to duplicate an audio tape on 'Deck A' to an audio tape on 'Deck B' at twice normal speed.
NOTE-Higher quality sound will be obtained with the 'NORMAL' setting.
- Deck A Controls:[see photo for location] 'Deck A' is the play only deck and it has the following controls:
- DIRECTION: This button changes the direction a tape is playing in the the deck. The direction of play is indicated with
in the 'Display Window' under the 'Direction' button.
- RESET: This button sets the 'Tape Counter' in the 'Display Window' under the 'Reset' button.
: This button advances the tape in the direction of the arrows.
: This button advances the tape in the direction of the arrows.
- SEARCH: This button, when pressed simultaneously with one of the advance buttons above, allows you to hear the tape as it is being advanced. It will also stop advancing once a blank interval is reached.
NOTE-The accuracy of the auto stop funtion is dependant upon the quality of the recording.
: This button stops playback, recording of advancing a tape in either direction.
- EJECT: This button opens the deck so tapes can be inserted or removed.
- Deck B Controls:[see photo for location] 'Deck A' is the play only deck and it has the following controls:
- RESET: This button sets the 'Tape Counter' in the 'Display Window' under the 'Reset' button.
- DIRECTION: This button changes the direction a tape is playing in the the deck. The direction of play is indicated with
in the 'Display Window' under the 'Direction' button.
: This button advances the tape in the direction of the arrows. If this button is pressed during recording, in the opposite direction of the arrows, it will automatically return to the point the recording started.
: This button advances the tape in the direction of the arrows. If this button is pressed during recording, in the opposite direction of the arrows, it will automatically return to the point the recording started.
- MUTE/SEARCH: This button, when pressed simultaneously with one of the advance buttons above, allows you to hear the tape as it is being advanced. It will also stop advancing once a blank interval is reached.

- REC/PAUSE: This button iniates the 'Record Mode'. Once in 'Record Mode' press 'PLAY' to begin recording. Pressing the 'REC/PAUSE' button while in 'Record Mode' stops recording, but the deck stays in 'Record Mode'.
NOTE-If you are using the [Graphic Equalizer] while recording on an audio tape be sure to understand its functionality with the Audio Tape Deck.
- EJECT: This button opens the deck so tapes can be inserted or removed.
- REC BALANCE: Use this control to adjust the balance during recording on an audio tape.
- REC LEVEL: Use this control to adjust the level during recording on an audio tape. The level is indicated in the 'Display Window'.
