Department of English

Scholarships

The English Department offers a number of scholarships to English students each academic year, pending funding.  Winners are acknowledged at the annual awards ceremony (Honors Convocation) co-sponsored by the department and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society in late spring semester.  See also the Writes of Spring annual competition.  This year’s convocation will be held on May 11, 2009, in Tivoli 640 at 2:30 pm.

Each year, students who meet the specified criteria are invited to apply for the following scholarships and awards; download the appropriate form below.  Submit completed materials to the scholarship committee chair, Dr. Cynthia Kuhn, in King Center (4th floor) by the specified deadline in spring term.  Scholarship recipients must be enrolled at Metro State during both fall and spring semesters of the current academic year in order to qualify for the award.  All awards require the applicant to attach an up-to-date CAPP report and to have a current Metro State scholarship application form on file.   Two awards also require that a FAFSA has been filed.  Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered.
