In June 2009 seven students and two teachers from Metropolitan College of Denver (MSCD) travelled to China as guests of Chengdu University in Sichuan Province. There were two purposes for the trip
1) was to study GIS education focusing on the use of new software and understanding spatial concepts and
2) perform GIS research focused on data analaysis.
