TOVAH FELDSHUH

Before taking her portrayal of Golda Meir (in the one-woman play Golda's Balcony) to Broadway, actress Tovah Feldshuh came to Denver to see the historic Golda Meir House and speak with the director of the Golda Meir Center for Political Leadership. She spent the day in the Golda Meir Museum and also visited sites throughout the city connected to Meir's life in Denver.
Ms. Feldshuh's performance in the off-Broadway production of Golda's Balcony received the 2003 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress and the 2003 Drama Desk Award for Best Solo Performance. Over the years, she has been recognized with three Tony nominations for Best Actress, three Drama Desk Awards, four Outer Critics Circle Awards, the Obie and the Theatre World Award.
She has also received an Emmy nomination for her role in Holocaust. This year, she gained another Emmy nomination for her recurring role in the series Law and Order. For her performance in the film Kissing Jessica Stein, Ms. Feldshuh also received the Golden Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In addition to her work in theatre, films and television, she also has a one-woman show called Tovah: Out of Her Mind. In November 2003, she returns to Denver for one night and the premiere a new one-woman show titled The Making of Golda's Balcony.
The play Golda's Balcony by William Gibson begins its Broadway run at the Helen Hayes Theatre October 3, 2003.
