&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
A course offered in the Honors Program is not necessarily better than other
offerings, but all Honors courses have the following characteristics:

<span class="color_bold">(1)</span> Its topics and approaches are interdisciplinary in nature.

<br /><br />

<span class="color_bold">(2)</span> It is committed to the advancement of written expression.

<br /><br />

<span class="color_bold">(3)</span> It is focused on using primary texts or source materials.

<br /><br />

<span class="color_bold">(4)</span> It is conducted with emphasis on discussion.

In some cases, an Honors courses may be cross listed with other Metro State courses, and students 
from the Honors Program will be in the course with other students.
It is Honors Program policy that all students within an Honors course must work at the same level, 
whether they are in the Honors Program or not.  There will not be differing 
standards of evaluation or assessment in cross listed courses.
