Logging into CLEM / UNIX Off Campus

There are two ways of logging into clem off of campus. You can dial in directly to the clem server through the Metro modem pool or you can telnet in while online with your ISP.

Dialing Direct

You will need a working computer with a modem, a phone line and communications software such as "HyperTerminal" which comes with Windows. Just dial 303-893-9440
And login using your clem username and clem password entered in lowercase. When you are logged in you will see a % sign which is a unix prompt.

Telnet

While online with your ISP click on [Start], clicsk on [Run] type in
telnet clem.mscd.edu click on [OK] you should get a login screen. Login using your clem username and clem password entered in lowercase. When you are logged in you will see a % sign which is a unix prompt.

Type in your username and press [enter], then type in your password and depress [enter]. When you type the password you will not see any entry's.

Once you are logged in you will see a % prompt. If you are going to create a web site now is a good time to type: webaccess and depress the [enter] key. This will prepare your clem account so you can post a web site to it.
