 Barbara Bongartz

Barbara Bongartz wurde 1957 in Köln geboren. Sie studierte Theater- und Filmgeschichte und Philosophie in Paris, München and Köln. Sie arbeitete von 1984 bis 1988 als Filmautorin und seit 1996 als freie Schriftstellerin. Sie arbeitete dazwischen als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Theater-, Film- und Fernsehwissenschaft in Köln. Sie gewann 1996 den Literaturfördungspreis der Stadt Düsseldorf und 1997 ein Stipendium der Stadt Amsterdam. Sie lebt seit 1996 in Düsseldorf und New York.

Barbara Bongartz was in 1957 in Cologne. She studied theatre and film history and philosophy in Paris, Munich, and Cologne. She worked as a screen writer from 1984 to 1988 and as an independent writer since 1996. In between, she worked as a researcher at the Institute for Theater, Film and Television in Cologne. She won in 1996 the Düsseldorf Literature prize and in 1997 a study grant from the city of Amsterdam. Since 1996, she lives in Düsseldorf and New York.
