Christine Bergmann

Christine Bergmann studied Pharmacy in Leipzig and, after passing the state exam in 1963, she worked as a pharmacist. From 1967-1977, Bergmann free-lanced in the area of medical information at the Institute for Medicine in Berlin; she later worked at the Institute full-time. In 1978, Bergmann became the head of her department.

Bergmann became a member of the SPD in 1989 and was the mayor of Berlin in 1991. She has been the Minister of Families, the Elderly, Women, and Youth since 1998.

Bergmanns Studium war Pharmazie in Leipzig Sie hat 1963 die Staatsexamen gemacht und danach Tätigkeit als Apothekerin. Von 1967 bis 1977 war ihre freiberufliche Tätigkeit im Bereich der Arzneimittelinformation am Institut für Arzneimittelwesen in Berlin. Danach arbeitete sie vollzeitige Beschäftigung in diesem Institut. Ab 1978 war Bergmann Abteilungsleiterin.

1989 war ihr Eintritt in die Sozialdemokratische, und Bergmann war 1991 Bürgermeisterin von Berlin. Seit 1998 ist sie Bundesministerin für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend
