 Hrotsvitha

Nicht viel über Hrotsvitha ist bekannt. Hrotsvitha, auch Hrotsvit, Hrosvith, Hroswitha, Roswitha, Hrotswitha, und Hrotsuit genannt, wurde wahrscheinlich zwischen 930 und 940 zu einer adligen Familie geboren. Sie kam als Kind auf Gandersheim, ein Kloster der Kanonissinnen. Sie legte weder Keuschheits- noch Armutsgelübde ab. Sie schrieb drei Bücher. Sie schrieb Gedichte, zwei über Otto I. Sie ist aber eher wegen ihrer Schauspiele bekannt. Sie schrieb alles auf Latein. Sie starb wahrscheinlich 1002.

Very little is known about Hrotsvitha. Hrotsvitha, also known as Hrotsvit, Hrosvith, Hroswitha, Roswitha, Hrotswitha, and Hrotsuit, was probably born between 930 and 940 to a nobel family. She went to the Gandersheim monastery as a young child. Gandersheim was a convent for canonesses. She took neither a vow of chastity nor of poverty. She wrote three books. She wrote poetry, two about Otto I. She is, however, most famous for her plays. She wrote all her works in Latin. She probably died in 1002.
