Jutta Limbach was born in Berlin in 1934. She is married and has three children. She studied Law and completed her 1. Civil-Service Examination in 1958, and her 2. Civil-Service Examination in 1962. From 1963-1966, she worked as an academic councillor in the Field of Law at the Free University in Berlin, and in 1971, she received her appointment as university professor, upon which she became a professor in the Field of Law at the Free University. In 1982, she was a visiting professor in Bremen.
Since 1987, she has been a member of the board of the "Gesellschaft für Gesetzgebung," and from 1989-1994, she was the Senator for Justice for Berlin. From 1994-2002, she was the President of the Federal Constitutional Court, and since January 2002, she has been the President of the "Goethe Institute Inter Nationes."
Jutta Limbach wurde 1934 in Berlin geboren. Sie ist verheiratet und hat drei Kinder. Sie studierte Jura und absolvierte ihr 1. Staatsexamen im Jahre 1958 und ihr 2. Staatsexamen im Jahre 1962. Von 1963-1966 war sie als "Akademische Rätin am Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaft der FU Berlin" tätig und erhielt 1971 ihre Habilitation, woraufhin sie 1972 Professorin im Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaft der Freien Universität wurde. 1982 war sie Gastprofessorin in Bremen.
Seit 1987 ist sie "Vorstandsmitglied der Gesellschaft für Gesetzgebung" und von 1989-1994 war sie Senatorin für Justiz des Bundeslandes Berlin. Von 1994-2002 war sie Präsidentin des Bundesverfassungsgerichts und seit Januar 2002 ist sie Präsidentin des "Goethe-Instituts Inter Nationes".
