the love poem i never wrote
I want to write a love poem so strong it sticks
To lips and souls
Like slippery honey
And when you think you have wiped away the last word
One last sentiment hides in the corner of your mouth
And the sugary sensations start all over again
I want to write this poem for you so that when I kiss you
I taste my poem on your lips and can suck it from your tongue
To give it more meaning
I want to taste love's sweet supplicants with you
I want to spread it through your eyebrow and wrap it around your head
Getting my fingers sticky with pollen paste I want to hold your hand and never let go
I want to write to the core of you
Get through that thickened flesh with ease
And expose the pulp
I don't want to know where you begin and I end
