Dragon-Fly Bride
RaDonna Fox

Like a bride
staring up at me
as if expecting to meet
my every fantasy.

She adorned
in shining white
Seeks release
from her bonds
of innocence.

Blood thickening in my veins
my heart feels as though
it is pumping
mud.
Her body raked,
raked like coals of fire
burning,
burning for my touch.

“Come to me,” she whispers.
Just as I approach
to make love,
five dragon-flies light on my bride
and carry her away.

For she was just a page.
