 The Center for Effective Interventions (CEI) was created in December 2000. The office is part of the Human Services Department at Metropolitan State College of Denver. CEI works with communities and agencies providing technical assistance leading to the selection of models of practice to create or enhance a continuum of research-based practices. Beginning with a mission to disseminate Multisystemic Therapy (MST) throughout Colorado, the office has grown to provide support and training to MST teams in New Mexico , Texas , Arizona , and Oklahoma . In addition, CEI is in the process of developing relationships with other evidence-based and promising program models. To date we have developed working agreements with Functional Family Therapy and Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care. |

  Multi-systemic therapy (MST) has emerged as one of the rapidly growing treatments of serious juvenile offenders in New Mexico. MST is a family and home-based treatment that strives to change how youth function in their natural settings – home, school, and neighborhood – in ways that promote positive social behavior while decreasing antisocial behavior.
