About Self-Paced Online Classes |

#1.
How do Self-Paced
Online Classes differ from semester-based online classes? Enrollment
is open throughout the year. In most cases, you have six months to one
year to complete the class. The extra flexibility helps you fit your studies
into an already busy life. To be successful in an online course, you must
be able to organize your time, set up a study schedule and stick to it,
work independently and login to your course regularly. #2. Funding
regulations for Colorado residents attending a state supported institution
of higher education require that residents enroll in semester-based online
classes. Metro State’s semester-based online courses are listed in the
current semester class schedule at http://www.mscd.edu/enroll/registrar/sched.htm. #3. If
you are registered for a Self-Paced Online Class
and are a non-Colorado resident,
go to http://elearning.mscd.edu #4. All courses
are described in the Catalog which is found on the Metro State home page
www.mscd.edu or click on Courses;
go to the list of courses available and click on the course title. #5. Self-paced
online classes require that you are comfortable with basic Internet and
email functions, creating, managing and uploading files and in some cases
installing software. You will need to have access to the computer hardware
and software:
24/7 resources
are available to assist you with technical problems you may experience
when taking a self-paced online class.
