Telecourses
If you like the
feel of independent learning and want more flexible
scheduling for some of your general studies and
elective courses, consider taking a
telecourse.
A telecourse is a
fully accredited college class that combines
television viewing, a textbook, a study guide, and
class meetings
or discussions led by qualified MSCD professors.
Telecourses provide
a great alternative for students needing scheduling
flexibility because of job or home
responsibilities. In addition, many students take a
telecourse because they prefer
a more independent learning style than a classroom
provides.
KRMA-TV, Channel 6,
airs telecourses each semester. Many of these
telecourses may also be seen on KBDI-TV, Channel
12,
as well as on selected cable channels. Specific
broadcast times are listed for Channel 6, with the
broadcast day beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at
6:00 a.m. the following day.
Because all
telecourses have a limited number of class
meetings, students are required to attend the first
class session, which is
an orientation for the course.
Before registering
for a Telecourse, check the current
MSCD
catalog for
prerequisites.
