J. Tison Cory CFP^®

Biography
J. Tison Cory graduated from the University of Alabama in 1991and went on to complete the Certified Financial Planner^® program at Metropolitan State College of Denver through the Business Outreach Program. Mr. Cory is currently licensed as a Certified Financial Planner^®.

Mr. Cory began his career as a Registered Associate in 1995 for Butler Financial, Inc. in McLean, Virginia. He gained valuable experience by working in a full-service boutique firm specializing in serving affluent clients and generational wealth management.

In 1997 Mr. Cory moved to Denver, Colorado and gained employment with INVESCO Retirement Benefits Service as a Qualified Plan Specialist. In 1998 he transferred to INVESCO Funds Group as a Retirement Specialist focusing on servicing customers in the small business plan area. In 1999, Mr. Cory moved to the legal department for INVESCO Funds Group as a Senior Paralegal undertaking a variety of shareholder-related issues ranging from litigation to estate and trust issues.

In 2005, Mr. Cory joined the legal and compliance department for ALPS Fund Services, Inc., a boutique, turn-key provider for mutual funds with a need to be brought to market or existing mutual funds in need of regulatory or operational assistance.

He also currently serves as President of BlackDog Financial, LLC, a small investment management firm specializing in retirement and estate planning with a concentration in small business consulting and generational wealth management. Mr. Cory is a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Mr. Cory also teaches Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits for Metropolitan State College of Denver.
