Lawrence E. Howes, MBA, CFP^®

Mr. Howes is a founder and principal in Sharkey, Howes and Javer, INC., a firm that provides financial planning and portfolio management, to individuals and businesses.

He received his MBA from Regis University and Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Metropolitan State College in Denver and was admitted to the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners in 1986. He received his CFP^® designation in 1987.

He currently serves on the State of Colorado Department of Treasury, Investment Advisory Committee, overseeing the management of the States $5 Billion in investment assets. He also serves on the Investment Committee of Pinnacle Assurance overseeing the management of its $1 Billion in assets.

He also served on the State of Colorado, Securities Commissioner's legislative sub-committee on Financial Planning/Investment Advisory Regulation. He drafted the legislative application for the first Investment Advisory Law in the State of Colorado.

Mr. Howes has also served on the Institute of Certified Financial Planners™ (ICFP) national committees of Communication, Government Affairs, and Education. He has served on many disciplinary hearing boards for the CFP^® Board of Standards.

Mr Howes is also one of the "Best Financial Advisors for Doctors" since 1999 according to Medical Economics and is a frequent author in the Journal of Financial Planning, Financial Advisory Practice, Financial Planning magazine, the Denver Business Journal, Business Week plus numerous consumer publications.
