Tom C. Nelson, MBA, Ph.D., CFP®

Dr. Nelson began his teaching career as the Program Director for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training Programs and programs for the Colorado Heart Association and American Red Cross for the Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Nelson then became Regional Exam Coordinator for the National Registry of EMT's conducting national board certification for Paramedics in central USA. Currently Dr. Nelson is teaching the Investments course for the Metropolitan State College of Denver's CFP® Certification Program.

Dr. Nelson was the General Manager and General Partner for A-1 Ambulance Companies for 10 years, then went on to become the Chief Financial Officer for American Medical Response. Three years later he became the Group VP of Financial Operations, then the Divisional VP of Operations.

The Outstanding Leadership Award, was presented to him from the American Medical Response in 1995. In 1993 he received the Gold Star Award for Excellence from the American Medical Response and and Invitee to the Doctoral Student Seminar at the FMA Annual Meeting in 1998. Dr. Nelson is also a member of the Financial Management Association along with the Institute for Certified Financial Planners.
