Political Science

 

Political Science Major
with Secondary Education Social Studies Endorsement

Students who wish to obtain Colorado Licensure for Secondary Social Studies must earn a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in one of the following disciplines: Political Science, History, Economics, Behavioral Science, African American Studies, or Chicano Studies. In addition to course requirements in the major, all Social Studies licensure candidates must complete a core curriculum that provides a foundation in Political Science, History, Geography, Economics, and Behavioral Science and addresses the objectives of the PLACE and PRAXIS Social Studies examinations. The core curriculum is strengthened by courses in the major. The Political Science major will take courses in political theory, political analysis, and additional coursework in American or international/comparative politics.
