Call for Papers

All Psychology and Human Development students are invited to submit manuscripts for possible publication in the Student Journal of Psychological Science (SJPS)

SJPS is a peer-reviewed electronic journal dedicated to the publication and dissemination of scholarly work conducted by students within the fields of Psychology and Human Development.

SJPS will accept submissions addressing any area of Psychology or Human Development.  Manuscripts submitted to SJPS may include 1) reports of original empirical research; 2) literature reviews; 3) theoretical manuscripts; 4) manuscripts addressing the historical bases of any aspect of Psychology or Human Development; or 5) annotated bibliographies.

Publication of a manuscript can aid a student in several ways.  Submitting a manuscript to SJPS will allow you to gain valuable experience in the peer-review process (the life-blood of scholarly work in the field of Psychology); you will be able to share your work and ideas with your fellow-students and faculty; and you will be able to list those publications on your curriculum vitae, thus strengthening your graduate school applications.

Authors should submit manuscripts as email attachments in Microsoft Word format to Dr. Aaron S. Richmond, at arichmo3@mscd.edu.  Submitted manuscripts must not have been published previously, nor may they be under review for publication elsewhere.  Manuscripts should be no more than 6000 words in length, and should follow APA guidelines regarding style and format as described in the Publication Manual (5th edition) of the APA .

SJPS will be published online twice each year, in the Spring and Fall semester.  Submission is open-ended, i.e., there is no specific deadline for submission.  Manuscripts will be considered as they are submitted.
