Student Academic Success
Student Academic Success (SAS) is a collaboration of several integrated retention initiatives that support student engagement, success, and graduation. The programs that are a part of Student Academic Success include: Academic Alert, Immigrant Services, Metro Bridge, Metro Scholars, Student Intervention Services, Student Support Services (a federal TRIO Program), Tutoring Center, and the Metro State Learning Communities. SAS provides structured services and programming such as individual coaching/advising, peer advising, academic monitoring, tutoring, supplemental instruction, workshops, and referrals to other campus services.
Immigrant Services Program
The Immigrant Services Program assists students whose first language is not English.
Metro Bridge Program
The Metro Bridge Program assists students with the transition from high school to college.
Metro Scholars Program
The Metro Scholars Program provides scholarship students with academic support.
Student Intervention Services (SIS)
Student Intervention Services (SIS) works with students who are returning to college with a cumulative GPA below a 2.0 and current academic probation students who have a cumulative GPA below 2.0. SIS also receives the academic suspension appeals for review. SIS also administers the Academic Alert Program which provides mid-term grade information for students.
Tutoring Program
The Tutoring Program provides free tutoring to all students enrolled at Metro State.
Federal TRIO Student Support Services Program
The Federal TRIO Student Support Services program provides support and services to students who are first generation, low–income, and have a disability.
