What do I need to do to have a career in Meteorology?

**NOTE: Employment announcements received by SCAMS or the Metro Meteorology program, from either the Metro Co-Op office or other sources, will be posted upon receipt.

How do I use the Co-Op office??
The Cooperative Education Internship Center works with employers to help students get experience in their major with their degree. The contact person for the Meteorology department is:
-Melissa Brenimer, Coordinator
- Phone: 303-556-3290
- Fax: 303-556-2091
- E-Mail: brenimem@mscd.edu

Many students here have gotten jobs/internships in various areas of Meteorology through the Co-Op program. To qualify for Co-Op placement, students must register with the Co-Op office and meet the following qualifications:

- At least Sophomore status
- At least 2.5 GPA
- Declared Major
- If a transfer student, must have one semester completed at Metro

The registration process is:
- Call to set up an orientation
- Fill out the Co-op Application and Guidelines/Agreement form
        (located at the main office)
- Have at least a rough draft of a resume
- Copy of your most current transcripts
(the one's from Banner are acceptable)

Department guidelines for Co-op education, internships, and independent study.

With this process, sometimes it is wise to get registered as soon as possible, then when the internships come up, you won't have to take the time to do the orientation. The office is located at 1045 9th St. It's just to the west of the West Classroom in one of the old buildings along the walkway.
