After traveling in all but four states, Kim Fielding
landed in Colorado long enough to become a graduate of the
MSCD Social Work Department in 1999 and the University of
Denver in 2000. With an interest in social justice issues
related to education as a vehicle of economic
self-sufficiency, she is expected to complete a doctorate in
education (Ed.D.) by the end of summer 2007. Her studies
include a specialization in grounded theory, educational
technology, and media psychology. Kim's continuing
contribution to the department has been through her role as
the distance learning specialist (since 2000). Beginning with
the analysis and design of the accredited distance education
component, her efforts revolve primarily around providing
support to faculty with ongoing development and evaluation for
improvement of delivery. Teaching responsibilities have
included the once-a-year online section of policy (SWK 3780)
during the spring semester. Interestingly, Kim has lived in
Missouri since mid-2004 and also teaches online and in the
classroom for Missouri State University School of Social
Work's graduate and undergraduate programs. |
