Requirements

Take the Driving Test

This driving test is a multiple-part, task-oriented list of activities.

You should plan for one-hour to complete the entire list of activities.

You will be sending your results via email. You must use your MetroConnect account for sending your email.

While you will perform each activity separately, send activity 1-9 results to [gienckea@mscd.edu] as one entire email. Be sure to identify each activity with its corresponding number below. ONLY activity 10 will not require a direct email to [gienckea@mscd.edu]. 

Evaluation of performance will not be graded unless ALL 10 activities are complete.

Allow at least 72 hours for the driving test results.

Complete the following activities:

1. Save an image:
Go to the URL [http://www.mscd.edu/~socwrk/online/driverlicense/drivetest_q1.htm] and save ONE picture. Send the saved picture file as an attachment in your drive test email.

2. Use a search engine:
Find the web site for Merriam-Webster's online dictionary. Include the link in your drive test email.
[Hint: Some web sites will refer to Merriam-Webster; however, be sure you are using Merriam-Webster's official web site address.]

3. Go to electronic bulletin board:
Go to the WebCT help bulletin board site [http://discussions.webct.com/jive4/forum.jspa?forumID=30]. Find the top posting. Copy and paste the message into your drive test email.

4. Review Email netiquette:
Make any corrections you find necessary. Include the corrections as part of  your drive test email.

5. Review web page credibility:
Go to the URL about Peanut Butter Lovers. Read the contents. Write a brief, brief assessment of the source in terms of legitimacy and reliability to include with your drive test email.

6. Compare web page credibility:
Go to another URL about SkippyPeanut Butter. Read the contents. Write a brief, brief comparison of the sources in Questions 5 and 6, choosing which you deem a more legitimate, reliable source as part of your drive test email.

7. Access Help menu:
Go to the MetroConnect login page. Copy and paste the helpdesk support information into your drive test email.

8. Using the Auraria Library.
Click on the Interlibrary Loan link in the "Do it" column. Click on the InterLibrary Loan Policies link. Fill in the blank to the following statement as part of your drive test email:

Turnaround Time: Most materials are usually obtained within _______.

9. APA manual information:
What is the current price of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th edition) at amazon.com? Provide the answer as part of your drive test email.

10. Use online form:
Send an email to the Social Work Department by using and completing each fill-in box placed in the Contact Us link located in the Social Work Department's navigation bar.
