Testing and Assessment Center

The mission and goal of Assessment and Specialized Testing is to offer a broad range of testing services to the Metro student body. All first-time college students are required to take a series of exams before registering for their first-semester classes if their ACT or SAT scroes are below departmental cutoff scores. Transfer and adult students are also required to take one or all of the exams if they do not have appropriate transfer credits. The exams measure college entry-level skills in reading, writing and mathematics. The scores are used by advisors to help determine the selection of appropriate courses.

The testing center offers a variety of other testing services in addition to placement exams, our exam services include:

  • American College Testing (ACT) National and Residual testing programs
  • Make-Up Examination Service
  • Test proctoring service for on-line courses
  • Departmental Major Field Tests (MFT)
  • Exam proctoring for student from other institutions (Courtesy Exam Service)

Regular Fall Semester Hours: Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm

Extended Office Hours for Fall Semester (by appointment only): Beginning August 12th open Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturdays by appointment.

Fall Office Closures: The Testing Center will close on Thursday, Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving Holiday and will not offer extended hours during the Fall Break, Nov. 24 - Nov. 29.
