Testing and Assessment Center
The mission and goal of Assessment and Specialized Testing is to offer a broad range of testing services to the Metro student body. All first-time college students are required to take a series of exams before registering for their first-semester classes if their ACT or SAT scores are below departmental cutoff scores. Transfer and adult students are also required to take one or all of the exams if they do not have appropriate transfer credits. The exams measure college entry-level skills in reading, writing and mathematics. The scores are used by advisors to help determine the selection of appropriate courses.
The testing center offers a variety of other testing services in addition to placement exams, our exam services include:
- Test proctoring service for on-line courses
- Make-Up Examination Service
- American College Testing (ACT) National and Residual testing programs (click HERE to see reporting locations for ACT-National testing)
- Departmental Testing (MFT, MAPP, Senior Exit Exams, etc.)
- Exam proctoring for students from other institutions (Courtesy Exam Service)
