Burnsing down the house
Ken Burns’ films prove that reality is often stranger, and more compelling, than fiction. The documentary filmmaker, known for his epic cinematic examinations of history, art and sports, will be at Starz FilmCenter at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29. Burns will show clips from his film in progress, titled The War. The 15-hour PBS series will examine World War II from the perspective of four small American towns. The film will feature personal stories and anecdotes to illustrate the human cost of the conflict. |
