The Metro women’s soccer team showed Adams State and the country why they are ranked fifth in NCAA Division-II with an 11-1 blowout victory at Auraria Field on Sept. 1.

Conference play started for the men’s soccer team Aug. 30 and the Roadrunners used two goals by forward Shaun Elbaum to shut out Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival Regis University, 3-0.

Volleyball team gains steam second day of tourney

The Metro volleyball team split a set of four games at the Colorado Premier Challenge Sept. 1 and 2 at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners lost their first two games in front of a sparse crowd Friday night, but bounced back for a pair of wins on Saturday.

Led by sophomore Todd Tolentino’s 10th-place run, the Roadrunners men’s cross country team put forth a strong effort for a fourth-place finish at the Wyoming Invitational Sept. 1 in Laramie.
