Tolentino finishes sixth, 'Runners men come in third

Metro’s cross country team made the long haul to Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 16 to compete in the Woody Green Invitational, hosted by Nebraska-Wesleyan and the University of Nebraska.

The Roadrunners men finished third overall with 174 points. Todd Tolentino finished the eight-kilometer race in a time of 26:00.60 and took sixth place out of 291 runners. Brice Young (38th place), Anthony Luna (58th), Eiger Erickson (63rd) and Zach Mares (98th) also contributed.

The Roadrunners women finished in 14th place with 361 points overall. Judy Jimenez led Metro with a 68th place finish and a time of 25:15.60 in the six-kilometer race. Mandi Hepworth rounded out the top hundred racers in 92nd place.

Colorado School of Mines dominated the men’s race with 25 points and had five runners in the top 12. The Orediggers’ Joel Hamilton won the race with a time of 25:09.50.
