an overtime thriller to Texas A&M Commerce, 2-1, in Commerce, Texas,
Oct. 1.

Things are setting up nicely for the Metro women’s volleyball
team with wins at Colorado Christian, 3-0, and at home against Colorado
School of Mines, 3-1. They are also ranked third in Southwest Region
poll after posting a winning record for the first time this season.

The Metro State men’s tennis team played at the Intercollegiate
Tennis Association’s North Central Region Championships Sept.
29-Oct.1 at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo.
The Roadrunners compiled a 6-9 record for the tournament, with the lone
bright spot being junior Riley Meyer, who won three matches.

Metro Road 'runners'

Right now the Metro men’s and women’s cross country teams
are nothing more than small beans in the grand scheme of things. This
proved true against the fierce competition on display at the University
of Colorado Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, where the Roadrunners
men finished fourth and the women seventh among non-Division I teams
Sept. 30.
