Election '06: Denver voters get new option at Tivoli booths
By Steven Sinclair
ssincla1@mscd.edu

The Tivoli Student Union will host a voting center on Election Day, Nov. 7, bringing the total number of Denver County voting centers to 55.

It will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and located in the Tivoli Multicultural Lounge.

Two representatives from the UCD student government, Melanie Gann and Colin Rose, were responsible for bringing the center to Auraria.

“We specifically set this up for students to encourage education and awareness about voting with accessible, easy-to-use polling stations,” Rose said.

Gann and Rose were also involved in a voter-registration drive on campus last month undertaken with the Colorado Public Interest Research Group and the New Voters Project. The drive ended on Oct. 10.

Only voters registered in Denver will be allowed to use the center. A driver’s license or Colorado identification card will also be required.
