Metro motors onward

Heading into the NCAA Division II championships at Auraria Field, the Metro women’s soccer team had a bitter taste left in its mouth from an upset loss to Fort Lewis in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship the previous week. But after beating West Texas A&M 3-2 in overtime on Nov. 3 and St. Edward’s 2-0 on Nov. 5, the Roadrunners moved through the bracket from bitter to sweet to elite.

It has been a rough season for the Metro club hockey team. Their big matchup against crosstown rival Denver University showed that the rigors of the season had gotten to the Roadrunners as they fell victim to a 10-0 blowout Nov. 4 at The Edge Ice Arena.

Men's soccer one and done in NCAA championship

All season the Metro men’s soccer team has had their twists and turns, and around each was the Fort Lewis Skyhawks. Since the beginning of the season, the Skyhawks have put the Roadrunners in their place as the second-best team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
