University of Colorado at Boulder student, Michael West, carries an empty oil drum throughout campus on Feb. 13 in protest of Bruce Benson’s position as the sole finalist for CU’s President. The oil drum, which read “Boycott Benson,” referred to Benson’s career as an oil and gas executive. West, the research and development director of CU Biodiesel, planned to ask Benson about his stand on renewable energy during the final public hearing Wednesday evening at the Glenn Miller Ballroom in Boulder.
